Loving from Your Soul: Creating Powerful Relationships, an inspiring and unusual new book by Shepherd Hoodwin, goes to the core of the issue by exploring the nature of love itself. It is a collection of discourses and counseling Hoodwin channeled from the Michael entity that views love as an eternal reality not dependent on other people or situations--it is something we can learn to access all the time through connecting directly with our soul.
Michael is well-known to readers of metaphysical books. There are some dozen Michael books in print, from the work of various channels, and most of them deal with a technical body of information called the Michael teachings. However, Loving from Your Soul is not a technical book. It deals with topics such as sexuality, anger, body image, loneliness, boundaries, listening, friendship, finding a mate, and alternative lifestyles. These subjects are framed within a larger context of explorations such as "Loving Yourself," "Being at Your Source," "Different Ways of Loving," "Oneness," "Communicating Your Whole Being," and "Expanding Love."
According to Loving from Your Soul, "Love is a unified experience that does not cut off any portion of your reality. When you are loving yourself, you are loving others. When you are loving others, you are loving yourself. When you are having joy in what you are doing, you are giving joy to the world--there is no separation between you and the world."

Shepherd Hoodwin is a Laguna Beach, California channel, workshop leader, and teacher. He does counseling, past-life therapy, and channeling coaching, in addition to both individual and group channeling sessions. He is the author of several articles on the Michael teachings and six books of channeled material, including The Journey of Your Soul: A Channel Explores Channeling and the Michael Teachings and Meditations for Self-Discovery: Guided Journeys for Communicating with Your Inner Self, as well as a children's book, Sabina and the Angel's Golden Crystals. He has been channeling Michael since 1986. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon in Music Education, and is a songwriter, singer, and actor. He is currently writing a musical.

Love is an ever-present reality. It does not have to be caused to exist. However, it can be expanded. Each of us is an example of love seeking to experience new aspects of itself. Love would become bored after a while being the "same old" infinite reality. It wants to increase, so you, an individual spark within the eternal fire, continually set out to see what happens when you plant yourself in new situations, asking "How does love handle this?"
