When you imagine yourself having a life that is full of loving and peaceful relationships, one where you are happy and fulfilled, do you immediately begin to tell yourself that you will have to work hard to get it? Do you imagine that your goal is something that is a long way off, or that it may even take the rest of your life, or indeed many life-times to reach? Enlightenment is not a destination; it is a way of life, a condition of the mind. Do not focus on the destination, but on the journey itself. Many of you, when you go on vacation, look forward to the drive through the countryside or wilderness on the way to your destination, or you feel the excitement of the flight ahead of you, or the anticipation of being with loved ones, friends and family. Enlightenment, the journey towards having a fully open heart, can be the same for you. Enjoy the journey, the process of development, and love where you are. If you were to drive past a beautiful meadow on your way to your mountain vacation, you would choose to call the meadow ugly? So why would you choose to negate where you are now? You are a loving person by virtue of the fact that you are reading these words right now. It is your desire to live a more fulfilling, love-filled life, which has drawn you to this information. Your heart is already open, and you are in the process of learning how to open it a little further. Every time you seek wisdom and understanding, you are making a request to the Universe for more love. For knowledge in itself is of little consequence, but knowledge put into practice with wisdom and understanding comes from the love you already have present in your heart. Take a moment to acknowledge where you are now. Notice that you are already a loving person and that you are indeed capable of much more love that you give yourself credit for. Do not confuse love with always rushing around to help other people, irrespective of your own needs. True love is knowing when to help, and when not to, and it is empowering people to see their greater potential.

Living as the Master means knowing that every feeling and thought that you have is a choice. You can choose on a minute by minute basis what to think and what to feel. When you have an emotional reaction to the words of another, they have not made you feel a certain way; you have chosen your reaction. Each and every act of a lower nature is a request for more love. The next time someone criticizes you, is impolite, rude or unhelpful, look at the soul behind the behaviour. Are they really trying to hurt you? Are going to choose to believe in their ability to hurt you in some way? Each time you take offence at another person's action towards you, you are giving your personal power away, by believing in their ability to influence or control your life, or emotions, in some way. By looking past the action of the other person into their soul, you will begin to see as the Master; that they too are making a request for more love. Taking offense simply enhances the offence, and is offensive in itself. As the Master, you will know that the behavior of the other individual is not about you, it is about them. What state of mind would that person need to be in to act in a way that challenges your love? What has lead them to be in this state? Sometimes, you may need to make the choice to simply leave a particular situation, in which case you can politely ask to be excused until you are abler to collect yourself and get calm and centered. All arguments and confrontations are a result of two or more people acting from their hurt inner self, rather than the issue at hand. Know that whenever an emotion of hurt or anger is stimulated within you because of how another person is treating you, it is because the hurt was already within you. A Master knows that each and every event in life is created by the self, and is a reflection of the Self. Each time someone offends, angers or upsets you emotionally, the Universe is simply showing you that there is unfinished business, and that now is the time to go within. This means taking full responsibility for all your experiences, and knowing that blaming others is simply shifting responsibility away from yourself and onto others. Choosing to live as the Master does not mean that you have to be perfect from day one. It simply means that you are willing to learn and to grown. That you are willing to keep your heart open in situations that you may normally close it, and withdraw into emotional pain, anger or resentment. You can practice being the Master, and you can have fun doing it. Spiritual growth does not need to be a serious business. A Master is only serious in intent, not in demeanor. Life was meant to be joyful, and joy is a divine quality, a soul quality, so you can choose to bring that quality of joy into everything you do.

Are you willing to let go of the seriousness concerning your spiritual growth? Are you ready to be playful, laugh at yourself and to have a giggle at life and its playful challenges? Joy and laughter are a state of mind. You do not need to wait to have joy in your life before you can laugh at it. Joy, like enlightenment, is a state of being, a state of mind. Therefore, you only need to change your perspective, and start concentrating on all those things that already contain elements of joy in your life. You can develop the qualities of a Master through visualizing and behaving as if you are already a Master, with a fully developed heart. Set aside a time each day, or week, in which you will don your Master's robes (Metaphorically speaking) and go about your business as the Master. Try this out for an hour at a time, or an entire morning, or a whole day. Although it may at first feel as if you are acting, pretending, or that is not real, if your intention is to create more love in your life, and live like a Master of Love, then this exercise will soon teach you that love is a choice, and that it is real, and that you can increase it in your life simply by having the intention to do so. When you have chosen a particular time or day, go about your business as the Master. Ask yourself what would the Master do next? How would I, the Master, react to this situation? How would the Master do grocery shopping, deal with assistants in a store, handle children and other people in his or her life? Asking yourself these questions, and looking at your motivation for doing and saying things, is a powerful way for you to bring old patterns that are less loving into your consciousness. Acting as the Master is simply practicing living as the Master, and the more you practice, the more quickly these new, higher, ways of thinking will become a natural part of your daily life and consciousness. Love is already a natural part of your being, for it is one of the four qualities of the soul. By practicing this quality, even if it feels as if you are making it up, you will begin to dissolve the illusions, the maya, the fog, which keeps you thinking that you are something less than the divine child of love that you truly are. You have heard the saying: practice makes perfect.

If you desire to become an artist you would naturally practice, maybe even take lessons, or read books on the subject. All great artists and musicians dedicate many hours of their lives to creating the things they want to express though their particular gift. Love is no different. Would you consider the first paintings ever produced by Monet, or the first music ever written by Mozart to be a fraud, not real? It is the same with love. You can practice each and every day to be the Master and paint your canvass anew with each morning. Each great piece of work takes time and dedication, and creating a masterpiece of love in your life, takes focus, intent, and dedication. You will have your off days, days when the energy does not seem to flow as well as on other days. You can choose to extend that love to yourself by forgiving and understanding yourself, by looking at yourself through the eyes of compassion. Do not compare an off day with a good day and make yourself wrong, less worthy, or decide that you have failed in your intent. You may have spent many, many years behaving in a certain way. Some behaviors and fears that you have may not even be yours, they may be fears and beliefs that you have taken on from your environment, beliefs are a part of the mass consciousness of you city, country, state or planet. If you have unconsciously complied with these beliefs and behaviors for many years, it will take practice and focus to move beyond them. You are part of a quiet revolution that is taking place on your planet. A revolution that will change the beliefs of your world. One that will transform the planet into one that will reflect the will of God and the qualities of the divine that are within your Soul, which is your birthright. As with every revolution, it will take a groundswell of activity before it will become a tidal wave of change that will transform everything in its path, a wave of love that will heal everything in its path and will change the destiny of humanity so that it is reunited with its true self, so that you may know yourselves as God.
